Jukebox Friday

Bein’ Green – Damian McGinty

What a week it had been! I’ve been very busy, so I didn’t get the chance to write at all. I got a new place to live! I’ve been living about 30 minutes bus ride away from the center of the city and my workplace, and throw in the traffic jams in rush hours, I’m spending two hours on the road five days a week. But then I found this cute little place with a big kitchen just five minutes walk from my workplace! I know! It’s freaking amazing!

The more amazing was celebrating one year anniversary with Sir Atticus, can’t believe it has been already one year since I fell for that Irish charm. Conveniently, it’s St Patrick’s Day! So here’s something green, sang by an Irish, the brilliant Damian McGinty, happy St Paddy’s and Friday!

It’s not that easy being green
Having to spend each day the color of the leaves
When I think it could be nicer being red, or yellow, or gold
Or something much more colorful like that

It’s not that easy being green
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things
And people tend to pass you over ’cause you’re
Not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water
Or stars in the sky

But green’s the color of Spring
And green can be cool and friendly-like
And green can be big like an ocean, or important
Like a mountain, or tall like a tree

When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder
But why wonder, why wonder?
I’m green and it’ll do fine
And It’s beautiful
And I think it’s what I want to be
