Jukebox Friday

Black Hole Sun – Vintage Soundgarden Cover ft. Haley Reinhart

It has been a while that I’ve put anything from Postmodern Jukebox, they are after all the inspiration to my Jukebox Fridays. So I picked a rather sad song for this time, but since it’s so stunningly presented by one of my favorite voices in the world, the beautiful and talented Haley Reinhart, a little sadness won’t kill your Friday vibe. “Black Hole Sun” is one of those songs I really like but I hardly ever listen to it. It speaks of longing, at least for me, and I guess it’s also quite fitting for today. I am missing Sir Atticus quite a bit, but it IS Friday which means the week’s ending which in turn means Sir is going to be back very soon. So here’s the song, I hope you enjoy. Happy Friday! 🙂

In my eyes, indisposed
In disguises no one knows
Hides the face, lies the snake
And the sun in my disgrace
Boiling heat, summer stench
‘Neath the black the sky looks dead
Call my name through the cream
And I’ll hear you scream again

Black hole sun
Won’t you come
And wash away the rain
Black hole sun
Won’t you come
Won’t you come (won’t you come)

Stuttering, cold and damp
Steal the warm wind tired friend
Times are gone for honest men
And sometimes far too long for snakes
In my shoes, a walking sleep
And my soul I pray to keep
Heaven sent hell away
No one sings like you anymore

Black hole sun…

Hang my head, drown my fear
Till you all just disappear

Black hole sun…
